2023 WV FLL State Championship

We look forward to seeing you at the 2023 West Virginia FLL State Championship, Sunday, March 19 at Fairmont State University! This event will bring together over 50 FLL Explore and Challenge teams from across West Virginia in celebration of their accomplishments this season.

Schedule

The following is an approximate schedule for the day and is subject to change. A detailed schedule including match and judging times for each team will be available soon.

7:30 AM: Falcon Center doors open to teams
8:00 AM: FLLC judging sessions begin in Engineering Technology Building
9:00 AM: FLLC practice rounds begin
12:30 PM: FLLC Judging & practice rounds end
1:30 PM: FLLC table rounds begin (3 per team)
1:30 – 3:30 PM: FLLE Expo
4:30 PM: Awards Ceremony

Registration Fee

The registration fee for FLL Challenge teams is $50. Cash or checks made out to "Fairmont State University" will be accepted at the check-in table. If this creates a hardship for your team, or you have other questions or concerns, please contact Todd Ensign at tensign@fairmontstate.edu.

There is no registration fee for FLL Explore teams.

Venue, Directions, and Parking

The event will be held in the Falcon Center and Engineering Technology Building on the campus of Fairmont State University.

Free parking is available in the campus parking garage. From the garage, take the elevator to the top floor and walk across the pedestrian bridge to the Falcon Center. The street address of the parking garage is: 1112 Bryant St, Fairmont WV 26554.

For an accessible entrance or large vehicle unloading, continue up Bryant St. to the point marked “Falcon Center Accessible Entrance and Load-In” on the map below. From there, enter the Falcon Center on the second floor and take the elevator or stairs down to the gyms. Several accessible parking spaces are located near this entrance. 

School buses and other large vehicles can park in the gravel lot located across Locust Avenue/US 19 from campus.

FLLC table runs and the FLLE expo will take place in Falcon Center Gym 1. FLLC team pits and practice tables will be in Falcon Center Gym 2. FLLC judging sessions will be in classrooms on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Engineering Technology Building.

Food

The dining hall on the third floor of the Falcon Center will be open for lunch on Sunday – buffet-style, all-you-can-eat for $8 per person. To speed up the line, you may optionally purchase tickets for the dining hall in the morning. Tickets may only be purchased using cash or checks; however, credit cards are accepted in the dining hall itself.

The Falcon Center Starbucks will be open Sunday. Additionally, there are a number of sit-down and fast food restaurants within a short drive of campus.
