2025 Robotics Summer Camps
REGISTRATION OPEN NOW – USE LINK AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
WHAT
Our hands-on robotics camps are 4-day programs focusing on fundamental building and programming skills, games, and fun challenges. Each camp will provide information on age appropriate competitions and how to get involved and stay engaged in robotics. Camps are staffed by NASA ERC staff and college interns sponsored by the IV&V Program and the WV Space Grant Consortium, and hosted at partner sites across the state.
WHO
Our robotics camps are divided into two age groups:
Ages 6-8: Half-day camp (9AM - 12PM) – LEGO WeDo 2.0 and Coding Express
Ages 9-12: Full-day camp (9AM - 4PM) – VEX IQ and Aerial Drones
Space is limited, and we will cover the same material in each camp. We do not recommend signing up for two camps. The camps are a basic introduction to the platforms, so no experience is required. Coaches looking for guidance for more experienced students should reach out to schedule a coach/team training.
WHEN & WHERE
June 10-13: BridgeValley Community & Technical College, South Charleston
June 17-20: Fairmont State University, Fairmont
June 24-27: Marshall University, Huntington
July 15-18: Fairmont State University, Fairmont
July 22-25: James Rumsey Technical Institute, Martinsburg (FULL, REGISTRATION CLOSED)
July 29 - August 1: West Virginia University, Morgantown
There will be a parents' meeting on Monday of each week at 6PM to discuss logistics, meet with the staff, and collect donations. Camp will run Tuesday through Friday.
SUGGESTED DONATION
We suggest an optional donation to cover our costs. The suggested donation is $50/student for the half-day camp (ages 6-8), or $100/student for the all-day camp (ages 9-12). This includes a morning and afternoon snack, use of robots, tablets, and all materials. Full-day campers must bring their own lunch.
Donations will be collected at the parent meeting and on the first day of the camp. We can accept cash or checks made out to Fairmont State University.

MARTINSBURG CAMP: We recieved an extremely high volume of form submissions for the July 22-25 camp in Martinsburg. Within a few minutes of registration opening, both camps in Martinsburg were full and had waitlists longer than we can possibly accomodate. As a result, registration for this camp has been closed altogether.
